We will not share your personal information in any other way, other than how we have outlined below.
A) When you use Cataplt.com
Cataplt.com may automatically log certain information about you, when you browse the site. This is so that we can gain information regarding our site visitors, to help us make our site more effective and user-friendly. The information collected includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and click stream data. This information does not identify users but we may also use this information to aid in identifying people who are misusing the service, i.e. who are in breach of our terms and conditions of service.
Cataplt uses ‘cookies’, (small bits of data, which are sent to your Internet browser and stored on your computer) which allow us to recall your preferences when you re-visit our site. Most websites do this. Cookies can be used to identify your account in our system whenever you are logged in, but don’t carry any personal information about you.
You can choose to turn off cookies in your browser settings; however, this will mean that some of our website functions will be unavailable to you, e.g. you may not be able to sign in.
Links to other sites
When you leave a comment on Cataplt.com, if you provide your name and email address, these will be stored by us and will also be available to Cataplt personnel.
B) When you sign up to create your own website with Cataplt
Personal information that we collect
To sign up to use Cataplt services, you must provide a User name, password and a valid, current email address. You can update this information through the Cataplt website. This information will be removed if/when you cancel your account with us.
On receipt of this information, Cataplt will send you an introductory welcome email and later, an email from one of our support team, to offer assistance. You will also be added to our ‘Product Update’ emailing list, so that we can keep you informed about recent updates to the Cataplt system (you can unsubscribe from the product update at any time, using the link provided in the email).
In order to sign up for a paid account with Cataplt, you will provide us with your billing information, which will be kept with ‘Xero’, our accounting software. Or, if you decide to pay by credit card, your details will be kept securely by an external payment gateway (e.g. paypal). These details will be deleted when your account with us ends.
Cataplt allows you to send email newsletters to your clients vie a Mailchimp account. Email addresses that you collect, and any emails that you send, will be stored on Mailchimp servers. Cataplt will not use these email addresses in any other way.
Information Use and security
The security of your information is important to us and as such, we will endeavour to protect this information to the greatest extent that we can. We store your user information in secure databases. We use secure passwords, SSL encryption, firewalls and other measures to protect your data.
Cataplt’s servers may not be located in your country. By using Cataplt, you consent to the personal information that we collect being transferred, for the purpose of storing the information where Cataplt’s servers are located.
Cataplt will use the personal details we have recorded for you, to contact you about our service, e.g. server, support, maintenance, and billing issues. Your contact information will never be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cataplt will regularly send you email updates about our service, to keep you up to date with new features, offers etc. You can opt out of receiving these emails at any time, by clicking the appropriate link at the bottom of the newsletter.
Cataplt uses third party services for payment processing, accounting services, email services, data analysis and customer service. It is necessary that these third parties have access to your personal information to perform their functions, but they cannot use your details for any other purpose.
As stated in our terms and conditions, we may release your account details, if we are required to do so by law or, in order to uphold our terms and conditions of service (including, for example, fraud protection).
While we endeavour to provide a secure system, we can’t guarantee the security of the Internet or email and therefore, we can’t guarantee that your information will not be intercepted through illegal or unauthorised activities. Should this occur, we will inform you via email as soon as possible.
Links to other sites
If Cataplt were to go through a business transition of any kind, any information that we have stored about your account will be transferred, as part of our business assets; we will notify you via email should this occur.
C) When you use a website that is hosted by Cataplt
Your information, e.g. your name and IP address, are logged by our system if/when you post comments/messages on our hosted websites. They will be available to the owner of the website you are posting on. Please do not post any messages/comments on these sites if you do not wish to disclose these details.
